An Indian court on Friday sentenced four men to death for the rape and murder of a 23-year-old woman in New Delhi.
The court had on Tuesday convicted the four men -- Vinay Sharma, Akshay Thakur, Pawan Gupta and Mukesh Singh -- of murder, rape and kidnapping.
The outcry over the brutal attack shocked India, prompting angry protests over women's treatment in Indian society and the introduction of tougher punishments for sexual abuse.
