32 year old Nigerian University student was arrested at the newly opened Akanu Ibiam International Airport this week for ingesting 25 wraps of male condoms filled with cocaine.
The 400 level student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa, Anambra state was arrested after testing positive to liquid cocaine which weighed 1.250kg on arrival from Brazil aboard Ethiopian Airline flight.
In a statement, NDLEA said the suspect excreted the liquid substance which tested positive to cocaine. It also said this is the first arrest and seizure since the new international airport started operation last month.
The Fine and Applied Art student said he accepted to carry the banned substance because his sponsors promised to pay him N500,000 and that he needed the money to set up his own Art gallery. He said the sponsors gave him full assurance that he won't be caught. And so he was caught!!!
Hmmmm... blame it on ASUU strike right???
